Another Completed Goal
I have finished another of my 2009 Goals. This is the angel from the Heirloom Nativity set. Poor thing didn't have a face for almost 2 months. But last night, I finally finished it. I have come to the conclusion that I have to do the faces first on these patterns. If I do the "easy" (or easier) part first, I just drag my feet on finishing the face. I still have the shepherd to finish, and he has only needed a face for probably 6 months!

End of the Week...Finally!
Wow, what a week I have had. I started antibiotics for a sinus infection a week and a half ago. All this week, I faithfully took my med, but was not getting any better. This past Monday, I started getting a stabbing pain in my left ear. Well, I thought, maybe I should give the antibiotics another few days.
By Friday, I was a mess. My ear was hurting, I had a horrible sinus headache, and was pretty much just miserable. Fridays are usually crazy for me and the kids. We have a homeschool co-op that meets for 3 hours, then my oldest, Miss TwinkleToes, has a violin lesson, and then we follow it up with gymnastics. Plus this past Friday was our First Friday get-together with the other military families in my Hubby's office, and the kids had AWANA. Whew!
I managed to get a doctor's appointment, but it wasn't until 5pm. Hubby was coming over to the side of the island where all of our activities are, because there was a new military family coming in. So I convinced Hubby to come by gymnastics and pick up the kids, while I had to go to my appointment.
By the time I got done with the appointment, with a prescription for new antibiotics, I didn't think I would have time to go to my regular pharmacy to pick it up. So instead, the nurse called it in to Walmart for me and I went to pick it up. The line at the pharmacy took me 15 minutes to get to the front, only to be told it would be another 5-10 minutes, and they would call me. 45 minutes later, I got back in line to get my prescription to find out they only had 6 days worth of a medicine that I have to take for 2 weeks! So not only did I spent my entire evening at Walmart, I have to go back next week to get the rest of my medicine! And I didn't have any dinner, and lunch was a Jamba juice because we were running late from co-op! Needless to say, I was not a happy camper!
But the good news is that I did get some stitching done this week. My Nativity Angel is almost done! All she needs is a face and the remaining back stitching, and she will be complete.

Here is Patriotic Block at the beginning of the week.

And at the end of the week. For some reason, I can't find my black thread, so I will have to wait until my order from 123stitch.com arrives to do the fuses on the firecrackers, and the other block.

Here is Patriotic Santa at the beginning of the week. He is coming along pretty well. I seem to have made a mistake on him, but I think I can cover it up okay.

At at the end of the week, here is what he looked like. I was able to work on him waiting for my appointment.

Last, but not least, I will have a new project to start, as soon as my order arrives. I was reading on my friend Courtney's blog, All Stitched Together, about the American Soldier Memorial project.
From the group home page:
The American Soldier Memorial Project A site that honors the fallen heroes of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom
Counted cross stitchers and machine stitchers are always welcome
Our Mission: Is to show support to the fallen service men and women by giving a memorial to their family.
I have joined the group and will be stitching a memorial for a fallen soldier. I am so excited about it. I will be posting another entry about my soldier soon. And as soon as I get started on the project, I will be posting pictures.
Thanks for stopping by!

Some progress
Well I made some progress on my angel this week. Hubby was on the mainland, so I had a lot of stitching time in the evenings once the kids got to bed. I am trying the parking technique and it seems to be going well. Thanks for explaining that, everyone!
Here I have started on her wings on the right side, and the blue and gold sash she is holding. I am hoping to have her done by May so my finisher will have time to get her done before Christmas. Just keep stitching, just keep stitching....

A little Stitching

I managed to get a little stitching in today. Hubby is leaving for the mainland tonight and I have a Pampered Chef show to do tonight (I am a consultant). So I only got a few minutes of stitching in on my angel. I guess tomorrow should be my oldest WIP- that would have to be the shepherd. Of course.
I was very excited my order from 1-2-3 Stitch came in today! I heard about the shop on my yahoo group and placed the order. Of course, this pattern is going to be waiting for a while, since I am on a mission to finish my nativity set before my kids leave for college!
