My Last Finish for 2009

I have finished my heart for Mom's Carriage House Samplings Friendship Sampler.

Here it is, started on Tuesday.

And finished Christmas Eve.

Stitched with DMC 3041, and 861.

Now I am taking a stitching break until the end of the year!  Mom doesn't think I can go a whole week without stitching.  Maybe I should bet her some more of her stash to see who would win!  Mwaaaa Haaa haaa (evil laugh).

Merry Christmas to you and yours. May you be blessed with joy and laughter during the holidays.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Weekend Update- December 20, 2009

Here is my progress on Gobble.

I expect to have her finished before Christmas.  Mom also wants me to do a heart on her round robin Hearts.  I would like to get that finished before Christmas as well.  I think that will probably be my last finish on the year.

A Significant Stash Enhancing Experience!

My mom has PAS (pattern acquisition syndrome) really bad.  In fact, there is no cure.  She buys patterns and stash a lot.  She has definitely reached SABLE- stash acquisition beyond life expectancy!

So today, after I helped her clean out a closet, I was rewarded by being able to scrounge through her stash.  She was feeling in a very generous mood.

I picked up a pink Yazzii! (Mom had 2 so she gave me 1!)

A list of my new stash:

Another Start

I did a little work on the Home of the Brave.

It's hard to see but there are three white stars.

Then, Mom let me start Bent Creek: Gobble .  It is a sheep dressed up in a turkey costume.  Really cute!  I don't get to keep this one either.

Got a Quick One Done

At the beginning of the week, I decided I was bored and needed something to stitch.  So I raided my mom's stash to find something.  You will note, I do actually have 2 patterns to work on, but I am choosing not to do them.  LOL

This was my start on Monday afternoon.

I finished it Wednesday morning.

Turkey on an Egg kit, by Bent Creek
stitched on 28 ct flax linen,
using STs Nutmeg, Brandy, Maple Syrup, and Harvest Basket,
WDWs Brick, Caper, and Beige
Buttons by Just Another Button Co.

Mom said I don't get to keep this one.  Oh well, I had fun stitching it anyway.
Finish 31!  Woo Hoo!

Some Other Old Finishes

Hanging around my parents' house for the holidays I have spotted several items that I stitched for my mom.  Here are 2 more Christmas stitches.

I don't have any idea when I stitched this one.  I seem to remember doing it when I was in graduate school in Louisiana.

Merry Merry Christmas was stitched in 2000.

Saturday Update

Yikes!  It is less than 2 weeks until Christmas.  I still have to get a few packages mailed and a couple of things ordered,  Better get on that pretty quick.

In the stitching department, I am trying to finish up Itty Bitty Santa.  Here is how far I have gotten.

Next, this is a set of finger tip towels I stitched for my mom ages ago.  I am not sure when I finished them, but they look so nice, I thought I would share a picture.

Hope everyone is have a great holiday season.  Merry Christmas to all!

Weekly Update

The kids and I are still visiting my parents on the mainland.  Hubby is taking a class that finishes up on Dec 18, so he won't be back with us for another couple of weeks.

I have made a little progress- a very little progress- on the Eagle Sampler.

I am having trouble motivating myself to work on it.  I guess I am not going to finish all my official goals for the year.  But I think I have made tremendous progress on my stash this year, so I am happy with my work.

My mom has a lot of stitch stash.  So much that she and I will never finish it together in both our lifetimes!  LOL. So while we are staying here, I riffled through her patterns and found one to stitch.  This was started on Thursday.
