Late Update, January 28, 2013

Last week, youngest DD was sick.  I finally took her to the doctor on Thursday morning.  Poor thing has not been feeling well, but at least she is on the mend now.

I only stitched on 1 WIP this past week.

January 21 2013 Update

This was a long week.  Oldest DD got sick (yucky kind of sick!) in the middle of the night on Wednesday, after Hubby and I had been sick most of the day.  Hubby and I had a fever, aches and pains, all the good news of the flu.  Youngest DD got sick- just a fever- on Friday night, she actually fell asleep on the floor, something that hasn't happened in a long time!

I didn't even feel up to stitching on Thursday or Friday, instead, spent most of the time just watching movies.

But before everyone got sick, I did get some stitching done.

Finished 1-14-2013
Monthly Mania May, by Heart in Hand

Stitched on 32-count linen, using
DMC 798, 813, 221, 554, 413, 743, 841, and  500

By Sunday, I was feeling better.  Youngest DD was still lying on the couch and running a fever.  At least I go her to eat a little bit on Sunday.

And DD has made this much progress:

Kind of jumping around a lot!  But at least I am getting some kitted stuff finished finally!

First Finish of 2012

Here is a pattern I started on January 8th.  It is a Christmas ornament stocking by Artecy.

I added Youngest Daughter's name across the stocking and the year at the top.

Stitched on a scrap of Christmas fabric, don't have any idea what it is,
but it does have a sparkle woven into it
using DMC 326, 435, 742, and 986
Started January 9, 2012, completed January 14, 2012
while the Denver Broncos were getting creamed by the Patriots :(

Only 8 more stockings for Youngest Daughter, and 11 to stitch for Oldest!

Here is my sad and lonely seasonal shelf.

I only have the one January decoration.  What is a good decoration idea for January?
I will have to do a birthday pattern, since we have a January birthday,
but I'm afraid it won't get out for January of this year!

First Project of 2012

Here is my latest project.  It is Spring, from the LizzieKate A Banner Year collection.  I started it on December 29, 2011, and stitched it on the drive to Pennsylvania, for our winter family vacation.

Here it is at the end of 2011.

This is how far I have gotten on it in January.

I am trying to keep the needles pre-threaded, and it is making my stitching go faster.

For Christmas, Mom got me a cute pattern from Olde Colonial Designs.
I will probably stitch that one up pretty soon.

I have also decided to stitch an ornament for each of my girls every year.  I have selected the patterns I will be doing for each of them, and will get started with them soon, so they can be finished before this Christmas.

Stitchin' Update

This week I got a bit of stitching done.  This might be the year of LizzieKate finishes for me- LOL, since they are quick and easy patterns.  I worked on the Year with Charm series.

Here is January.

And February.

My oldest DD decided to start a rainbow heart pattern.  Here is her progress on it.

Friday morning, while helping my kids try to make bubble gum, I got a splinter in my right index finger!  Ouch!  That made stitching pretty hard most of the weekend, so I have been taking a break- playing Mario Kart on the Wii.  And the kids are complaining because they can't play!

I got a package from my finisher on Saturday.   Here are the finished pieces.

I love the black fuzzy thread on the spooky cat hanging ornament!

The quilt fabric for Home of a Needleworker is a pretty purple splotchy color.

It did not photograph well, so here is a close-up of the fabric.

A May Update

I didn't have a stitching update to post last week.  It was Hubby's birthday, plus we tried twice (and didn't succeed) to buy a house in Virginia that week.  But I did get a little bit of stitching done this week.

Here is my American Soldier Memorial piece.  It is coming along slowly.

Then I got this far on Spring House.

I ran out of my grass color, so I ordered some more this weekend.  While I was getting something I really needed (ha, ha!) I decided to pick up some fabric for a couple of the Cup O' Tea patterns by Just Another Button Co.

I started this piece on Saturday after I ran out of my other floss.  It is the January Flip-It by Lizzie Kate.

I have come to the realization that I don't have any interest in stitching big complicated patterns this year.  I want to do things that are quick and easy!  Maybe it has to do with being distracted with planning a move, but I really don't have the patience to work on something complex.  So maybe this is  a year of  quick stitches for me.

Also, I posted another Christmas pattern at my design blog, Zippity Stitch.  I hope you stop by to check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Second Finish for 2010

I finished up Land That I Love by Lizzie Kate on Thursday night, but couldn't post it until today.  Hubby was gone camping and he had the camera.

Lizzie Kate Snippet #S28, Land That I Love
stitched on 30-count linen, using
WDWs cadet, charcoal, deep sea, dolphin, garnet,
scuppermong, tin roof, whitewash, and Wisper W63.

Instead of the sterling silver heart, I used a blue heart button.
